VPK Overview

Our VPK preschool program is for 4+ Year Olds

You’ve made it to our Pre Kindergarten class. This is the final year before your child enters Kindergarten. The children must learn to follow directions and routines. We will continue with our daily fine motor, gross motor, and language. The science math, cooking, art, phonetic awareness, sight word recognition, and writing skills become important. We learn through play with hands-on projects. The children will also be working with their independence, problem solving, and social emotional skills. Parents are responsible for weekly homework to help your child prepare for kindergarten. It also allows the parents to see how their children are doing. We need to work together to assure your children are ready for kindergarten. Our VPK class runs Monday –Thursday 8 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Wrap around times are available. All children must wear closed toe shoes and be here by 8:15.

The VPK class will provide breakfast (8:15), lunch (11:45), snack (3:00), and art supplies. Meals provided are pending if your child is wrap around. Parents are responsible for providing a blanket (if they are here all day), a change of clothes (labeled), and a water bottle. Parents may choose to provide bug spray with a completed medical form. We do assessments 3 times a year to meet the VPK requirements. For non VPK students we have paper assessments that we do with the children versus the online with VPK. This allows us to make sure children are reaching their developmental milestones.
